A number of years ago, the Senior Class Committee made a recommendation to the College to make available a limited amount of housing to graduating seniors with the goal of helping guests attend Commencement. The Dean of Students Office works confidentially with the Griffin Financial Aid Office to determine eligibility for this opportunity. Eligible students will be notified in December and asked to enter a lottery. This housing is only available for guests of students whose permanent address is 150 miles or more from campus and is not offered to students who live off-campus.
Thirty students will be selected at random from this list and notified in January. Accommodations are offered beginning the Tuesday before Commencement week until the Friday after Commencement. Selected students will be offered beds for up to two guests in single-occupancy rooms attached by a shared bathroom in Currier House. Each room is furnished with a twin-sized bed. Rooms will be clean and we provide bed sheets, blankets, towels, pillows, and basic toiletries. There is no daily housekeeping service.
Because of limited availability, we are unable to accommodate requests for specific rooms. Rooms are not transferable and specific assignment and check-in information will be shared with selected students in early May.
