Welcome and congratulations on your acceptance to Harvard! I'm originally from the Big Island of Hawaii but have called South Florida and Southern California home as well. While in college at the University of Southern California, I worked in residential education and summer programs at UC Berkeley, serving first-generation low-income (FGLI) students interested in STEM. Prior to receiving my master's in theological studies at Harvard, I lived in Salvador Bahia, Brazil, where I taught K-12 students English literacy through poetry and Capoeira (Afro-Brazilian martial art) as a Fulbright Artist-Researcher. As an artist-educator, I strive to break the boxes of inequity through teaching, creating music, painting and collaborating on projects that center racial justice and equity. I look forward to meeting you!
