Brian Boughton

Assistant Director of Housing Operations & Student Life IT, Office of Student Services

I am the main contact for anything related to the student residential portal, including: housing forms/applications, cancelling and returning to housing, transferring houses, Winter Recess housing, and DeWolfe summer housing (including the administration of Crimson Cash grants to assist high financial need students cover living expenses when the dining halls are closed).

I also manage the StarRez database and also provide support to House staff and the Dean of Students Office on items related to technology. I have significant training and experience in residential education, having served as a Resident Assistant for four years and a Residence Hall Director for three years. Although now my primary role is in operations, I do love to work directly with students and have served as a member of the Board of First-Year Advisers.

In my spare time I like to watch movies at the AMC Loewes downtown, visit the Opera House to see Broadway shows on tour in the area, or spend time watching Netflix and Hulu with my two cats Quinn and Zoe.

I have worked at Harvard since the start of the Fall 2016 term. Prior to starting at Harvard, I held positions in Residence Life at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City and at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island.

Prior to my professional career, I graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education from the Boston University Wheelock School of Education & Human Development ('11) and an M.A. from Boston College Lynch Graduate School of Education ('13) in Higher Education.

I no longer have any idea who I am supposed to root for in the Beanpot.
