I was born in Brooklyn, NY to two Jamaican immigrants (which makes me a Jamerican, according to my dad). As a first-generation undergraduate at Boston University, I studied mathematics and philosophy, spent a semester abroad in Ecuador, performed in a spoken word poetry group, and worked with the admissions office to recruit other underrepresented students to the university. Eventually, I went to graduate school at George Washington University, earning my PhD in math in 2017. Currently, I’m a preceptor in the mathematics department, and in my infinite spare time I enjoy board games, rambling conversations, and cross-country road trips (among other interests). I could not be happier to be back in the Boston area, teaching and supporting undergraduate students at Harvard. Welcome home!
