In this busy time of year, prioritize your mindfulness with art! Most sessions will begin with a guided mindfulness exercise, followed by guided drawing exercises. The goal of these practices is to help silence the mind, let go of expectations and fears, and release inner creativity. The workshop will also foster a sense of community and shared learning through reflection. The program will begin with a screening of the 2024 documentary Going to Mars: The Nikki Giovanni Project, which celebrates Giovanni’s life and work and looks at the revolutionary historical periods she’s lived through—from the civil rights movement to Black Lives Matter.
