Below is some information about getting to the game, enjoying some festive events with friends throughout the week, and most importantly – having fun and staying safe. I hope you will take a moment to read through this information. You can also find lots of useful information in the Harvard/Yale section of the Omni App.

Yale University permits tailgating on football game days in designated areas, during specified hours, and under the conditions outlined in these tailgating policies. The Yale Police Department (YPD) will enforce all policies.

All guests’ belongings are subject to search. Anyone visibly under the influence or impaired will not be admitted into the tailgate areas or the Yale Bowl.

Safety

There are several important things that you should be aware of as you enter the Yale Bowl:

First, please be advised that Yale has implemented a strict “Clear Bag Policy” which will be in effect for The Game. Detailed information on the policy may be found here, and please also see the graphic below. I strongly encourage you to review this information carefully if you are planning to attend The Game.

Second, please do not attempt to bring any containers of alcohol into the Yale Bowl. They will be confiscated.

The most important thing I want to convey to you is to have fun, and to do so while being safe and looking out for your fellow students. Please make sure that you are drinking plenty of water, and eating sufficiently throughout the weekend. If you or a friend need help, do not hesitate to seek assistance by calling the numbers on your Safety Card. These cards will be handed out both on the HAS Shuttles and at the Tailgate event. There is nothing more important than your safety.

I hope to see you at various events this week and at the Yale Bowl on Saturday, and GO CRIMSON!

Kind Regards,

Katie O’Dair
