Madeleine Currie, Ed.D.
As Resident Dean of First-Year Students for Oak Yard, I have the amazing privilege of working with first-year students living in Canaday and Thayer. I hold an EdD in Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA in Comparative Literature from the University of Chicago. Before becoming a dean, I worked in several reseach-related roles at Harvard, including one at Harvard Medical School investigating mental health and family and community-based resilience among refugee youth, and another at HGSE investigating child development, family life, and transitionalism among first-generation immigrant families in the U.S. I also had a brief stint as a classroom teacher (junior high and high school). I have done other types of work on behalf of children, including serving as a guardian ad litem, a special education surrogate parent, and a foster parent. Of the many things I love about working as a dean, the fact that every day is different is a favorite. Please schedule an appointment with me any time about matters related to your experience at the College – I would love to talk with you.
