Incoming Student Required Educational Modules

A first-year student and their mom pose for a photo on first-year move-in day in teh Yard as they pull boxes.

To support your successful transition to college life, we require all incoming students to complete a series of important educational modules covering a variety of topics essential to your ability to thrive in the Harvard College living and learning community. As a group, these modules will introduce you to the challenging and life-changing Harvard academic experience, offer you strategies for engaging productively with your peers across difference, and help you to think both carefully and holistically about the safety and well-being of yourself and your friends.

Failure to complete these trainings may jeopardize your ability to register for courses. We appreciate your participation in advance. You should plan to engage with each of these modules when you have the time and space to give them your full attention. Please use a laptop or desktop computer – not your phone – to complete them.

Perspectives

Available June 16 - Due August 25, 2025

During your college years, you'll live alongside individuals from different backgrounds, cultures, and countries, which ensures that you will encounter peers with similar and varying views, beliefs, and values. To live and learn alongside those who are both similar and different from us, we must develop the ability to engage in constructive and respectful dialogue, even when it might be uncomfortable. This module will help you learn to understand divergent perspectives without compromising your own beliefs, and to foster an environment where living, learning, and collaborating is enriching and rewarding.

  • You will receive an email with a link to the module on June 16.
  • This course consists of six 25-minute modules and takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete. It is recommended to engage with two modules at a time.
