Welcome to Harvard, First-Years! My name is Andrew, and I am so stoked to meet you all. I grew up in Durban, South Africa and moved to Dayton, Ohio during highschool. In May 2022, I graduated from Harvard Divinity School with my master’s and, now, I am a doctoral student in Harvard’s Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, studying Hebrew Bible and Semitic languages. My research centers on the composition, writing conventions, and scribal epistemologies behind ritual text production in ancient Israel (what a nerd!). Apart from my studies, I love reading, eating, hiking, roadtripping, playing music, playing pick-up sports, learning, talking about ideas, and hosting people with my wife, Tori.
