Heather McLetchie-Leader
I came to Harvard many moons ago as an MBA student and never really left. My academic research and teaching focuses on interpreting ancient Mediterranean texts, emphasizing textual and cultural studies, as well as gender and queer approaches. I have taught in both K–12 and post-secondary and higher education settings, including continuing and executive education. I have held various residential positions at Harvard, where I earned my PhD. I currently serve as Interim Elm Yard Resident Dean of First-Year Students and Resident Director of Summer Housing for the College. Prior to my academic career, I worked as a management consultant at a global firm in their general and private equity practices. I was also Director of Research and Evaluation and Special Initiatives at a national education non-profit. Before Harvard, I studied at Dartmouth, where I completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering. My free time is spent dispensing both solicited and unsolicited advising, contemplating the social symbolism of the Marvel universe, perfecting my near-perfect yoga practice, and hanging out with musicians and other creative types. My favorite cake is cake. I look forward to meeting you all.
