Jacob Bushey

Hi everyone! My name is Jacob. My hometown is Virginia Beach, VA. I graduated from the University of Virginia in 2022, where I studied environmental science, chemistry and religious studies. As a PhD student in Environmental Science & Engineering, my research focuses on remote sensing of methane emissions from the oil and gas industry. Most of my favorite activities take place outdoors. I love running, cycling, hiking and visiting the beaches on the North Shore during the summer. When the weather turns cold, I enjoy cooking (current obsession is homemade pizza dough), trying new coffee brewing methods, concerts at small venues, and reading (especially books that come recommended by a friend). My wife, Katherine, and I are so excited to welcome you to campus!
