Congratulations and welcome to Harvard! I’m Amanda, and I can’t wait to meet you! Originally from the Hudson Valley area of New York, I’ve been on a wandering path since graduating from SUNY Buffalo, where I studied early childhood development and Spanish. After graduation, I headed to Chile, for what started as a year-long volunteer program and ended with me living and working there for almost eight years. Throughout, I had the opportunity to co-create containers of support for people at different stages of human development; from working as a bilingual early childhood educator, to teaching English to high school students, to supporting Harvard students abroad in Chile (via the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies!). No matter the age, I thrive most when building community with young people directly, and I am passionate about bringing a lens of social justice and equity to my work. In 2018, I graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and currently work as a Project Manager for the Harvard Center on the Developing Child. On an average day, you can catch me listening to podcasts, talking to my plants, thinking about my next meal, teaching a yoga class, or biking along the Charles at sunset. I’m excited to welcome you to the Harvard community!
