Hello! My name is Cass and I am a first-generation graduate from Wellesley College and Harvard Divinity School. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and I come from a vibrant Mexican and Salvadoran immigrant family. My academic research broadly focuses on colonialism, religion, gender, race, resistance, and violence. At Wellesley, I studied Cultural Anthropology and Latinx Studies, and at Harvard, I have been deeply engaged in all things related to Mesoamerica and Native American and Indigenous Studies. In addition to my own academic journey, I have spent years working with nonprofits based in educational equity and as a paralegal. Public service is a big passion of mine, and my home away from home is the Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA) and the Center for Public Service and Engaged Scholarship (CPSES). I love to make art: filmmaking, painting, photography, dancing  I want to do it all! I also enjoy spending time outdoors admiring trees, rivers, mountains, mushrooms, and critters (big and small). I famously hate the cold but have recently learned how to ski (super psyched about that!). I live with my partner Liv, who is a frisbee player + an alumna of the College and the Ed School, and our scruffy rascal-of-a-dog, Koda. We're so excited to meet you.
