In alignment with the meaning-making initiatives on campus, the Harvard Foundation is offering both in-person programming and virtual opportunities to learn more about religious observances and traditions. This programming cultivates a culture of respect and dialogue across practicing and non-practicing community members by encouraging students to discover more about meaningful practices in their own traditions and in the traditions of other members from our Harvard community. By offering opportunities to learn about and engage with this RESL programming, the Harvard Foundation aims to prepare students to be leaders in multi-religious societies around the globe.

The 2025-2026 in-person offerings will include:

  • Sukkot (Jewish Harvest Festival), October 6-13, 2025
  • Diwali (Festival of Lights) with the Harvard Undergraduate Student Organization, Dharma, October 20, 2025 (hosted 11/2)
  • Lunar New Year–February 17, 2026

University-Wide Multi-faith Calendar

The Harvard Divinity School provides a multifaith calendar that includes holidays and traditions across 15 denominations. The calendar is not an exhaustive list of religious traditions or of the holidays observed in those traditions. If this calendar does not include a religious tradition or major religious holiday of significance to you, please notify the HDS Office of the Chaplain and Religious and Spiritual Life so that it might be included in future editions of their calendar.
