The SDG Action Lab is a specialized branch of the Community Ideas Incubator dedicated to deepening student engagement with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Lab:

  • Raises awareness of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals among Harvard College students
  • Creates space for dialogue about SDG themes and the role of complex, imperfect institutions
  • Mobilizes campus groups toward action, reflection, and service tied to specific goals
  • Strengthens collaboration across student organizations, academic departments, and campus partners
  • Identifies and amplifies ongoing SDG-related work across Harvard

The SDG Action Lab builds on existing campus efforts—such as the Lemann Program on Creativity and Entrepreneurship (LPCE), where each student project advances at least one SDG and develops solutions to real-world challenges.

Each month, the Lab highlights one SDG, shaping new Harvard Foundation programming and amplifying ongoing campuswide efforts connected to that goal. By bringing these initiatives together under a shared framework, the SDG Action Lab amplifies current work and sparks new opportunities for collaboration and impact.
