The Johnnies
The Johnnies is an award show coordinated with the Crimson Key Society that honors and recognizes the work of each House’s Housing Day music videos. These videos have become an important part of Housing Day and House placement. The students in each House–alongside their HoCos–create these videos purely out of House spirit.
The Johnnies is the Dean of Students Office's way of recognizing students for their independent community-building efforts, their creativity, and their spirit.
The 2nd Annual Johnnies
In collaboration with the Harvard College Crimson Key Society, the DSO will host a night of glamour and excitement as we celebrate the tremendous work that your House Committee members and House communities put into their Housing Day videos. The event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026 in Sanders Theatre at 7 PM. For last year’s first-ever Johnnies, we were only able to invite a limited number of guests to join the reception and award show. This year, we will open this event to the entire Harvard community!
The Johnnies Ticket Distribution
The Johnnies is a ticketed event open to Harvard College community members. Physical tickets can be claimed at the following times and locations:

The Johnnies is open to members of the Harvard College community, with ticket distribution prioritized for Harvard College undergraduates. Tickets are available while supplies last. Students must present their HUID to receive a ticket, and one ticket will be distributed per person. Your physical ticket is required for entry and cannot be replaced if lost.
Award Categories & Voting
This year, voting for the following categories will be turned over to the students:
1. Video of the Year
2. Best Editing & Visual Effects
3. Best Lyrics
4. Best Choreography
5. Most House Pride
A student-identified group of Harvard faculty & administrators will cast their votes for the Harvard Choice Award, which will be awarded to the House that receives the most votes for the favorite video by these pre-selected Harvard judges.
